Now that I am back at work, I have started to think about the logistics actually involved with running a household and working.
One thing that I used to always struggle with (before kids) was planning out the week’s meals.
Meal prepping (or at least planning) is something that I really try and keep on top of as it saves time and money. We order in less and there are also less frequent trips to the shops mid-week to get 1-2 (try 20) extra items.
With Jaxon hitting the 8-month mark last week he is now right into his food. The recent trip to our MCHN advising we are to start cutting down milk and reducing pureed food.
This means that by 12 months (SO not far away) Jax will be basically eating what we eat at dinner time.
The problem with this is that we eat a lot of stir-fry and these are usually layered with soy sauce and chilli. Not foods that will necessarily agree with his little belly just yet!
I have decided that in order to avoid just heating up some frozen purees (homemade) and serving this to him out of ease on the days I work, I have to get back into planning our/his meals.
With Jax being looked after by my mother-in-law two days a week, this will allow me a bit of organization when it comes to planning out his meals as well – and not just telling her to feed him peanut butter toast everyday (which he would love to be honest).

The best way is to print one copy, get it laminated and use it over and over with an dry erase marker. This way you save your ink/paper and you are more likely to actually use it when you can just wipe it over and start planning.
